Key Responsibilities
As a Security Engineer, you will:
- Build and manage services that detect and automate mitigation of cybersecurity threats.
- Collaborate with data scientists, software engineers, and security experts across AWS.
- Develop innovative security solutions using the full breadth of AWS technologies.
- Protect AWS infrastructure and customer trust.
- Work with UK customers to operate and improve industry-leading security programs covering personnel, physical and logical accreditations, awareness training, assurance, and cybersecurity.
Basic Qualifications
- Degree or equivalent experience in a technical field.
- Experience in a Security Operations Centre (SOC), incident response, or penetration testing within large organizations.
- Strong understanding of cyber threats and defense practices.
- Hands-on experience with big data analytics and orchestration for security challenges.
- Proficiency in at least one modern programming language (Java, Go, TypeScript, Python, Rust).
- Experience with security code reviews.
Preferred Qualifications
- Familiarity with the MITRE ATT&CK framework.
- Knowledge of host and network telemetry data (e.g., process lists, logs, NetFlow).
- Awareness of current cyber security threats, actors, and techniques.
- Experience with data science, analytics for endpoint/network security, and streaming technologies (Kafka, Spark Streaming, Kinesis).
