Job Purpose
Join the GALLANT Project (Glasgow as a Living Lab Accelerating Novel Transformation) to support data collection in community-based travel and health-related studies.
You will be responsible for administering questionnaires, taking physical measures (e.g., height, weight), and completing study administration across community locations such as schools and participant homes.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
1. Data Collection
- Collect participant data via interviews and self-completed surveys (paper/electronic).
- Record and store physical measures in line with project standards.
- Ensure proper equipment use and calibration.
2. Communication
- Collaborate with the study team through regular updates.
- Provide feedback and suggest improvements.
3. Participant Support
- Explain study procedures clearly.
- Address concerns and escalate when needed.
4. Health & Safety
- Conduct dynamic risk assessments in field settings.
- Use University safety protocols including Lone Worker systems.
5. Project Planning
- Organise delegated activities and adjust to changing timelines.
- May involve evening or weekend work.
6. Supervision
- Guide data collection team members and ensure quality control.
7. Administration
- Manage project reports and compliance documents like risk assessments and vouchers.
8. Development
- Attend training and feedback sessions.
- Occasionally lead peer training.
Essential Qualifications & Experience
Education
- SCQF Level 7 (Advanced Higher/HNC), or
- Equivalent health-related qualification and competencies.
Skills
- Strong interest in health research and ethics.
- Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
- Familiarity with tools like Zoom, Teams, Microsoft Office.
Experience
- Experience in physical data collection and assisting with complex surveys.
- Ability to manage tasks and supervise a team.
- Willingness to travel and work flexible hours.
Desirable:
- Familiarity with Qualtrics software.
