BAE Systems Digital Intelligence is home to over 4,500 digital, cyber, and intelligence specialists operating across 10 countries. We support governments, defence organisations, and commercial clients in solving complex data challenges in highly secure environments.
We are currently expanding our team and are seeking experienced Data Engineers to join us in London or Manchester.
Overview
As a Data Engineer, you will design and deliver secure, scalable data solutions that enable meaningful insights for critical clients.
Key responsibilities include:
- Designing, developing, testing, and supporting data ingestion, integration, and ETL pipelines
- Modelling data requirements, sources, and flows across complex programmes
- Managing data lifecycle processes including creation, governance, and retention
- Working with tools to collect, store, integrate, visualise, and govern data and metadata
- Defining metadata standards to support data discovery, governance, and records management
Your work will directly support systems critical to the security of the UK.
About You
You will have experience in several of the following areas:
- Data Engineering, Data Analysis, or Data Science
- Strong programming skills, particularly Python
- Experience using ETL tools and Big Data technologies
- Knowledge of open-source data engineering platforms and solution evaluation
- Strong understanding of database concepts, including NoSQL, unstructured data, and data modelling
- Experience within Cyber Security or Intelligence environments (desirable, not essential)
Adaptability, analytical thinking, and a willingness to learn are essential.
