LCP Delta is working to enable the energy transition through innovative data solutions and technology. We empower key decision makers with insights into energy market trends and provide forecasting tools through our Enact platform—combining machine learning, optimisation, and fundamental models.

We are industry leaders in GB imbalance forecasting, with 6+ years of expertise, and we are expanding our data science capabilities to scale across Europe.

This role directly contributes to our strategy of deploying technology across all offerings, maximising our impact on the energy transition.

The Opportunity

We’re looking for an experienced Data Scientist with energy market forecasting expertise to join our fast-growing team.

You will:

  • Develop new and enhance existing forecasting applications using in-house datasets.
  • Work within a tech stack spanning Python, C#, web technologies, and Microsoft Azure.
  • Collaborate with energy consultants, traders, and developers to deliver innovative solutions.
  • Contribute to cutting-edge energy market modelling projects.

What You’ll Be Doing

  • Developing new short-term energy forecasts (GB & continental Europe).
  • Enhancing our current forecasting suite to solve client challenges.
  • Collaborating with traders and clients to understand business requirements.
  • Working as part of the Coding Team alongside developers and consultants.
  • Staying up to date with ML and data science developments.

About Our Power Market Modelling Team

Our Power Market Modelling team builds in-house models of pan-European energy markets. These tools support governments, regulators, and investors in shaping energy policy and forecasting asset revenues.

Key models include:

  • EnVision – pan-European power market forecasting.
  • STOREcast – a battery asset platform for client-driven revenue forecasts.

What We’re Looking For

  • Strong Python skills (essential).
  • Experience with ML models (e.g. TensorFlow, scikit-learn).
  • Background in energy industry, especially short-term power market forecasting.
  • Knowledge of GitHub / Azure DevOps, SQL (desired).
  • Experience with Databricks (preferred, not essential).
  • Strong communication skills—able to explain technical topics in plain language.
  • Degree in a numerical or computing discipline (desirable).
