Data Scientist – Remote (UK-wide) | FTC or Permanent
Overview
Olive Jar Digital is seeking a Data Scientist to help shape and deliver innovative AI initiatives. You’ll work across Discovery and Alpha phases, turning complex problems into data-driven solutions, refining problem statements, building prototypes, and evaluating machine learning models.
This role suits someone who enjoys experimentation, rapid iteration, and working closely with engineering, product, research, and design teams.

Responsibilities
- Analyse data sources and validate problem statements.
- Build, refine, and iterate on machine learning models and AI prototypes.
- Contribute to technical documentation (model design, pipelines, architecture).
- Evaluate models using metrics, KPIs, performance and bias checks.
- Support functional, regression, and performance testing.
- Collaborate on deployment pipelines, telemetry, and automated testing.
- Produce clear documentation and contribute to playback sessions and reports.
About You
- Strong hands-on experience in data science and machine learning.
- Skilled in model development, evaluation, and iterative experimentation.
- Effective collaborator across multidisciplinary teams.
- Able to communicate technical insights clearly.
- Experience with NLP, LLMs, vector search, or intelligent search.
- Familiar with cloud environments and CI/CD pipelines.
- Exposure to Discovery/Alpha delivery or rapid prototyping.
