Transmission Engineering Services Ltd (TES) is based in the North East of England, widely recognised as the power engineering capital of the United Kingdom. We work across the UK Transmission Network, delivering services including:
- Project Management
- Protection & Control Engineering
- Interface Engineering
- CAD Design
- Protection Settings
- Factory Acceptance Testing
- Principal Designer and Principal Contractor duties
We are recruiting experienced Protection and Control Design Engineers to join our growing team.
Key Responsibilities
- Produce schematic diagrams, wiring diagrams, general arrangements, cable block diagrams, and cable schedules
- Attend customer design reviews to ensure requirements are met
- Prepare Bills of Materials (BOM), Design Intent Documents, and cable sizing calculations
- Provide technical support during site activities
- Ensure compliance with customer technical specifications and internal design procedures
- Support continuous improvement of engineering systems and processes
- Mentor junior design engineers
- Assist and lead in-house training initiatives
- Work collaboratively within a team and meet project deadlines
- Travel to sites across the UK as required
Requirements
- HNC or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in design engineering (preferred)
- Strong communication skills and a positive, proactive attitude
- Willingness to learn and develop across multiple engineering functions
