Job Summary
As a Support Worker, you will play a vital role in enhancing the quality of life for individuals with disabilities. Your primary responsibility will be to provide assistance and support in daily activities, helping people lead fulfilling and happy lives. This position requires a compassionate person who can effectively communicate and engage with people they support, while also being able to help them with complex physical and mental health needs.
Duties
- Assist clients with personal care tasks, including bathing, dressing, and grooming.
- Support clients in daily living activities while working towards their life goals.
- Communicate effectively with clients to understand their needs and preferences.
- Develop and maintain care plans in collaboration with healthcare professionals and family members.
- Engage people in social and recreational activities to promote mental well-being.
- Monitor and document progress and any changes in behaviour or condition.
- Drivepeople to appointments or community activities as required.
- Ensure a safe environment by adhering to health and safety regulations.
Qualifications
- Previous experience working with people with learning disabilities is preferred.
- Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, are essential for effective interaction with people we support and their families.
- A valid driving licence is preferred for transporting clients.
- IT skills are advantageous for maintaining documentation and communication records.
- Experience in childcare is beneficial for those supporting families with children who have disabilities.
- Ability to work collaboratively within a team while also being self-motivated.
- A compassionate nature with a genuine desire to help others lead fulfilling lives.
