Overview
Morrison Water Services is offering an exciting opportunity for a Design Summer Intern to join their Water and Wastewater Capital Project Delivery team in Glasgow. This role provides hands-on experience in delivering essential clean water and wastewater infrastructure projects while bridging the gap between university theory and practical engineering application.
About the Role
As part of a multi-disciplinary design team, you will:
- Support engineering calculations, data analysis, and project modelling
- Assist in producing technical reports and AutoCAD/BIM drawings
- Contribute to construction-ready documentation
- Support optioneering based on carbon impact, cost, and sustainability
- Collaborate with geotechnical, mechanical, and electrical engineers
- Participate in design workshops, meetings, and site visits
- Conduct project-based health & safety risk assessments (CDM regulations)
Requirements
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel)
- Exposure to AutoCAD or GIS software
- Strong written and communication skills
- Proactive mindset with interest in sustainable water management
- Ability to work effectively within a team
