About the Role
Sofina Foods is recruiting reliable and enthusiastic individuals to join its Outdoor Pig Farming Operations in the Arbroath area. This role suits candidates who enjoy physical, hands-on outdoor work with livestock. Agricultural experience is beneficial but not essential, as full training will be provided.
Due to the rural location of the farms, candidates must have their own transport.
Pay Rates
Starting rate: £12.21 per hour
Experienced rate (12 months+): £12.61 per hour
Senior rate: £13.50 per hour
Working Hours
Monday to Thursday: 6:00am – 3:00pm (approx.)
Friday: 6:00am – 2:00pm
Weekend work required on a rota basis
Every third Thursday includes a 3:00am start (seasonal variation)
Key Responsibilities
Working with pigs on an outdoor unit including feeding, moving, serving, and handling
Maintaining high standards of animal welfare
Supporting health and safety procedures
Maintaining the general appearance and condition of the farm
Operating farm machinery safely and effectively
The Ideal Candidate
Comfortable working outdoors in a physical role
Reliable, self-motivated, and punctual
Willing to learn and follow processes
Able to travel independently to remote farm locations
Livestock experience is an advantage but not essential
