 Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Greater Manchester Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust for an experienced Finance Business Partner to join the Management Accounts Team.

The successful candidate will provide high-quality financial management advice and support to managers and clinicians across a large Divisional Network. The role requires a strong understanding of the NHS finance regime, excellent communication and leadership skills, and the ability to drive improvements in financial systems and processes.

 Responsibilities

  • Lead the divisional finance team, ensuring timely and accurate monthly financial performance reports.
  • Provide expert finance advice and jointly manage divisional performance with other Finance Business Partners.
  • Improve systems and processes to enhance reporting accuracy, financial analysis, planning, and internal controls.
  • Deliver effective communication and demonstrate strong staff management and interpersonal skills.
  • Produce reports on financial plans and performance for a major Clinical Network.

Qualifications & Experience

Essential Qualifications

  • CCAB Accountancy Qualification
  • Evidence of ongoing professional development

Essential Experience

  • Expertise in accounting, NHS finance legislation, and financial ledger systems
  • Experience managing a finance team (coaching, training, recruitment, appraisals)
  • Knowledge of HR techniques for staff development
  • Proven creativity and innovation in improving working practices

Desirable Experience

  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Senior-level finance experience in the NHS or public healthcare sector

Desirable Knowledge

  • Business cases, financial assessments, recovery plans, AVP/CIP
  • Strong understanding of the NHS financial regime and targets
