About the Role

Join UK Research & Innovation (UKRI) as a Financial Analyst within the International Directorate FBP team.
You will deliver insightful financial analysis and modelling to support decision-making across Horizon Europe programme activities, focusing on budgeting, forecasting, and management reporting.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead financial analysis to support strategic decisions.
  • Complete month-end processes, including accruals, recharges, and adjustments.
  • Prepare and deliver financial reports, insights, and commentary for programme managers.
  • Collaborate with Finance Business Partners and Reporting Teams to enhance data accuracy.
  • Build and maintain costing models for new activities.
  • Identify and implement process improvements to boost efficiency.

Essential Requirements

Qualifications:

  • Full or Part Qualified Accountant (ACA/CIMA/ACCA/CIPFA) desirable, or equivalent experience (QBE) with willingness to study.

Experience & Knowledge:

  • Proven experience in management accounting, budgeting, and forecasting.
  • Skilled in handling and analysing large and complex datasets.
  • Understanding of public sector finance frameworks.

Skills & Abilities:

  • Strong analytical, numerical, and critical-thinking skills.
  • Excellent problem-solving and communication abilities.
  • Able to prioritise workloads and meet tight deadlines.
  • Effective collaborator with a proactive mindset.
