Overview
Tracer is building an observability platform for high-performance computing. Our mission is to help scientists debug bioinformatics pipelines and speed up breakthroughs in areas like drug development. We are backed by $3M in funding and are assembling a founding team in London.
The Role
We’re hiring a Full Stack Software Engineer to work across frontend and backend. You’ll use TypeScript (Next.js) and Rust to build core features, connect data flows, and shape the foundation of our product. This is an excellent role for someone early in their career who wants to learn fast and make an impact in a startup environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Build applications with Next.js, TypeScript, and Rust
- Develop backend services and APIs
- Create real-time dashboards and visualizations
- Deploy and scale on Vercel and AWS
- Collaborate with product, design, and engineering leads
- Contribute to engineering standards and best practices
Requirements
- 1–2 years of professional software engineering experience
- Strong skills with TypeScript & React/Next.js
- Hands-on experience with Rust (production, open source, or side projects)
- Familiarity with AWS, Vercel, or other cloud platforms
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment
Nice to Have
- Knowledge of Clickhouse or other high-performance data platforms
- Interest in scientific computing or infrastructure tooling
- Previous startup or entrepreneurial experience
