Overview

NHS Scotland’s Prison Healthcare Service is seeking motivated and forward-thinking General Practitioners (GPs) to provide high-quality, person-centred care across three prison sites in Tayside. You’ll join a dedicated Multidisciplinary Team (MDT) delivering healthcare services equivalent to those available in the community, ensuring patients achieve the highest possible levels of health and wellbeing.

Key Details

  • Salary Scale: £77,160 – £115,167
  • Sessions: Up to 15 clinical sessions per week
  • Additional Sessions: 2 Clinical Lead sessions available
  • Work Schedule: Monday to Friday, plus Saturday mornings (optional)
  • Base Location: Health Centre, HMP Perth (with travel across sites as required)

  • Specialist Pharmacist and Pharmacy Technicians
  • Primary Care & Mental Health Nursing Teams
  • Advanced Nurse Practitioners and Trainees
  • Occupational Therapists, Physiotherapists, Psychologists
  • Substance Misuse Recovery Team, Dentists, Opticians, and more

Requirements

  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and Licence to Practice
  • Active participation in audit and teaching (GPs, Medical Staff, and Trainee ANPs)
  • Passion for improving healthcare within justice settings

Clinical Lead sessions are available for candidates interested in driving service development and innovation.
