 Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a dynamic, strategic senior manager to lead and shape the Transaction Services team within NWSSP’s Primary Care Division.

As Head of Transaction Services, you’ll be pivotal in delivering and modernizing transactional processes across NHS Wales Health Boards, Primary Care Contractors, and Welsh Government. This senior leadership role is perfect for someone experienced in large-scale transformation and stakeholder engagement.

 Key Responsibilities

  • Provide strategic leadership for the Transaction Services team.
  • Drive modernisation and transformation projects across complex systems.
  • Act as a key link between PCS and external stakeholders.
  • Set and deliver divisional strategy as part of the Primary Care Senior Management Team.
  • Foster an inclusive, forward-thinking, and collaborative work culture.

 Person Specification

Essential Qualifications

  • Master’s degree or equivalent senior-level experience.
  • Expertise in multiple specialist areas supported by postgraduate training or diplomas.

Desirable Qualifications

  • MSP or PRINCE2 Practitioner certification.
  • Financial qualification.

Essential Experience

  • Broad knowledge in disciplines including financial, performance, and change management.
  • Extensive leadership in complex NHS settings.
  • Understanding of regulatory systems (e.g. GMC, GOS, GDS, Pharmacy).
  • Experience collaborating with NHS stakeholders including Health Boards, Trusts, and contractors.

Desirable Experience

  • Proven delivery in a multi-service, transaction-based environment.
  • Track record in organisational development, including staff and programme management.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.
