Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Healthcare Assistant to join our team. The ideal candidate will provide essential support to patients in both home care and care home settings, assisting with daily living activities and ensuring the highest standards of care. This role requires effective communication skills and the ability to follow care plans while fostering a supportive environment for patients.
Responsibilities
- Assist residents with toileting needs, including continence promotion, washing, dressing, bathing, pressure area care, mouth and eye care
- Change bedding and maintain clean and tidy resident rooms
- Assist with serving meals and feeding residents who are unable to feed themselves
- Ensure residents receive the correct meals and diets
- Assist with resident admission and discharge, including documenting personal belongings
- Communicate relevant service user information to the nurse in charge and support updated care plans
- Report accidents or incidents immediately to the nurse in charge or Senior Care Assistant
- Maintain confidentiality and protect residents’ personal information
Qualifications
- NVQ Level 3 or above in Health and Social Care or equivalent/higher qualification
- Previous experience in home care or a care home setting is desirable but not essential
- Strong command of English for effective communication
- Caring attitude with the ability to work well in a team
- Excellent organisational skills and attention to detail
