Korus Health supports the NHS by delivering ultrasound scans to patients within their local communities. We are currently seeking a Health Care Assistant to join our clinical team and help provide a safe, comfortable, and positive patient experience.
About the Role
As a Health Care Assistant, you will work closely with a sonographer to support community-based ultrasound clinics. You will help prepare clinic rooms, assist patients during their appointments, carry out IT tasks, and ensure high standards of infection control and patient care are maintained at all times.
Key Responsibilities
- Support the sonographer in setting up equipment for community clinics
- Prepare clinic rooms and patient lists before the first appointment
- Welcome patients warmly and help them feel comfortable
- Act as a patient advocate, ensuring dignity, respect, and confidentiality
- Read patient notes and alert the sonographer to any specific needs
- Record accurate measurements from ultrasound findings
- Ensure clinics run smoothly and remain on schedule
- Carry out IT tasks including clinic registration and data input
- Clean and maintain ultrasound equipment and clinic rooms
- Follow infection control and safeguarding procedures
- Inspect clinical equipment and report faults to the Operations Manager
- Build positive working relationships with colleagues and community partners
- Work independently and take initiative to resolve clinic issues
Person Specification
Essential
- GCSEs (or equivalent)
- Full UK driving licence and access to a car
- Experience dealing with patients or customers
- Willingness to travel between clinic locations
- Good IT and communication skills
Desirable
- Previous patient or customer care experience
