 Summary

We are offering an exciting opportunity for a Band 2 Healthcare Support Worker to join our Adult Acute Mental Health Ward – Brocton House at St George’s Hospital in Stafford.

  • Brocton House is a 20-bed inpatient facility for working-age adults with acute mental health problems.
  • The Whittington Suite provides 6 beds dedicated to serving military personnel.

We are looking for caring and compassionate individuals committed to providing high-quality patient care.

This role also offers a unique development programme for inpatient Mental Health Support Workers, enabling progression to the top of Band 3 within 6–12 months upon successful completion.

Please note: This role is not eligible for visa sponsorship.

Main Duties of the Job

  • Provide direct support and spend therapeutic time with service users.
  • Promote recovery through evidence-based care and interventions.
  • Assist registered professionals in implementing and evaluating care plans.
  • Record and communicate service users’ progress with the wider multi-disciplinary team.
  • Support section 136 assessments and ECT treatment when required.
