About the Role
INTU Housing Solutions Ltd is seeking a compassionate and motivated Housing Support Officer to support adults experiencing homelessness and complex needs to maintain safe and stable accommodation.
This is a hands-on community-based role involving direct tenant support, property visits, and partnership work with external agencies.
Key Responsibilities
- Provide person-centred support to adults facing homelessness and complex needs (mental health, substance misuse, offending history, dual diagnosis).
- Complete support assessments and develop tailored support plans.
- Maintain accurate case records and compliance documentation.
- Conduct property visits, compliance checks, and welfare checks.
- Support tenants with:
- Tenancy sustainment
- Budgeting and benefits access
- Independent living skills
- Liaise with local authorities, probation, healthcare providers, and mental health services.
- Safeguard vulnerable adults and report concerns appropriately.
- Participate in team meetings, supervision, and training.
- Undertake lone working in the community where required.
Essential Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience working with vulnerable adults, homelessness services, or complex needs.
- Experience in support planning and risk assessments.
- Strong knowledge of safeguarding and professional boundaries.
- Ability to manage an independent caseload.
- Good written and verbal communication skills.
- IT literate (case management systems & Microsoft Office).
- Full UK driving licence and access to a vehicle (if required).
Desirable
- Level 3 qualification in Health & Social Care (or equivalent).
- Knowledge of housing legislation and tenancy management.
- Experience in supported accommodation or floating support services.
