Overview

Birmingham and Solihull Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust (BSMHFT) is seeking ICT Technical Apprentices to join our ICT Service Team. As part of this programme, you will:

  • Work in a dynamic, challenging environment with support from experienced staff.
  • Complete a Level 3 ICT Information Telecommunications Apprenticeship.
  • Gain skills and experience for future permanent roles or higher-level apprenticeships.
  • Receive a comprehensive induction and ongoing training.

You will need:

  • Enthusiasm, commitment, and good communication skills
  • Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy as a minimum

Please note: Candidates with equivalent qualifications will not be shortlisted.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop, support, and maintain IT systems and services.
  • Work collaboratively with technical specialists to implement innovative solutions.
  • Follow guidance on confidentiality and data quality.
  • Communicate effectively with colleagues and service users.

Person Specification

Essential:

  • Level 2 Literacy and Numeracy
  • Knowledge of Microsoft packages
  • Problem-solving skills and initiative
  • Good interpersonal and verbal communication skills

Desirable:

  • GCSE Maths/English C or above
  • Experience dealing with people face-to-face and over the phone
  • Lived experience of mental health and wellbeing
