Salary: £31,049 – £37,796 per annum (Annex 21)

East Cheshire NHS Trust is seeking an Information Analyst (Acute) to join our forward-thinking Data & Analytics team. This is an opportunity to make a meaningful impact by improving data quality, enhancing reporting, and supporting clinical decision-making that directly benefits patient care.

About the Role

You will play a key role in the accurate and timely submission of national datasets, maintaining data integrity, and improving the Trust’s reporting capabilities. Working closely with clinical and operational teams, you will use SQL and Python to develop and maintain ETL pipelines, automate processes, and contribute to the Trust’s data warehouse.

This role also supports your professional development, including working towards a Level 4 Data Analyst qualification.

Key Responsibilities

  • Extract, validate, and analyse complex datasets from acute and community systems.
  • Develop and maintain automated reporting processes using SQL and Python.
  • Support and enhance the Trust’s data warehouse and clinical information systems.
  • Collaborate with teams across the Trust to improve data quality and ensure compliance with national reporting requirements.
  • Respond to ad-hoc data requests from internal and external stakeholders.

What We’re Looking For

Essential:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification/experience in a relevant field.
  • In-depth practical knowledge of relational databases and database design.
  • Advanced Excel skills (functions, pivot tables).
  • Ability to analyse and present complex data clearly to non-technical audiences.

Desirable:

  • Experience with NHS datasets and data standards.
  • SQL Server Integration Services knowledge.
  • Understanding of Acute and Community health services.
