Somerset NHS Foundation Trust is seeking a motivated IT Cyber Security Analyst to join our Digital Services team, helping protect the IT systems and infrastructure that support patient care across Somerset.
Main Duties & Responsibilities
- Monitor and maintain the Trust’s cyber security systems.
- Respond to alerts, incidents, and NHS Digital CareCERT notifications.
- Investigate and resolve issues across networks, servers, and applications.
- Assist with security testing, patching, and accreditation processes.
- Collaborate with colleagues, clinicians, and external partners to ensure system resilience.
- Contribute to disaster recovery and business continuity planning.
- Support digital transformation projects with a focus on security.
What We’re Looking For
Essential:
- Degree in a relevant field (or equivalent knowledge/experience).
- Experience in technical IT environments.
- Strong knowledge of cyber security, networks, and operating systems (Windows/Linux).
- Good understanding of data networking, Active Directory, Azure/Entra.
- Experience working with 3rd party suppliers and NHS professionals.
Desirable:
- Cyber Security certifications (CISSP, CEH, Security+).
- ITIL qualification and project management knowledge.
- NHS or public sector IT Security experience.
