IT Operations Analyst
Location: Leeds, Frimley, Gloucester, Great Baddow, London, Manchester, Christchurch, or Yeovil – Hybrid with occasional travel
Salary: £32,000 – £40,000

Overview
We are seeking an IT Operations Analyst to join our team and play a key role in engaging with business stakeholders, supporting IT operations, and ensuring business-critical IT services run smoothly. You will help improve IT performance, security, and reliability, while supporting service transitions and ensuring governance standards are met.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Engage with stakeholders to understand IT challenges, blockers, and key business drivers
- Support and/or co-chair business engagement forums with exposure to the broader COO function
- Analyse data, identify issues, and support solutions to improve IT performance
- Coordinate operational support solutions to emerging issues with IT partners
- Ensure governance and assurance controls are followed consistently across BAE internal product and service teams
- Support project handover, operational readiness reviews, change control, entry into service, and early life support activities
- Report on IT and business changes, collaborating with IT and business comms teams
- Provide ad-hoc EUC support during refresh, upgrades, or peak demand periods
- Track and report on service performance, risks, issues, and improvements
- Support catalogue approvals, escalations, and analysis of item consumption
- Collect and analyse end-user feedback, ensuring insights are shared with the right teams
Skills and Experience
Essential:
- 2–3 years’ experience in IT Operations and Support (preferred)
- Experience supporting IT Service Transition (including managing ORR process desirable)
- Strong customer and end-user engagement experience
- Ability to work with multiple internal and external stakeholders
- Experience using SAP, ServiceNow, Excel, PowerPoint, and Office apps
- Strong attention to detail, quality, and accuracy in documentation
- Ability to remain calm under pressure, prioritise effectively, and focus on key issues
- Excellent communication skills, including translating technical challenges into business language
- Good understanding of data analysis techniques and trend identification
Desirable:
- Experience working with geographically dispersed teams
- Knowledge of Government Security Classifications policy, GDPR/UK Data Protection Act
