Job Description

This is a key position within the IT Services Department, primarily supporting Audio-Visual (AV) and IT services for staff and students across the university.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Respond to IT/AV queries via phone, email, portal, or in person.
  • Record all issues in the Service Desk system.
  • Resolve AV/IT incidents both remotely and on-site.
  • Support university events with AV setup and live support.
  • Develop user guides and deliver AV training to staff/students.
  • Participate in knowledgebase maintenance and documentation.
  • Maintain and assist in AV system upgrades and replacements.
  • Ensure compliance with university standards and procedures.

Note: This role requires full-time on-campus presence and is not suitable for remote/hybrid work.

Person Specification

Essential Qualifications:

  • HNC/HND or equivalent.
  • ITIL Foundation.
  • AV industry-recognized qualifications or relevant experience.

Essential Knowledge:

  • AV hardware/software and desktop OS knowledge (Windows 10/11, macOS).
  • Microsoft Office, remote tools, Extron DSP/PCS.
  • IT and Cyber Security fundamentals.

Essential Experience:

  • Delivering AV support in a large environment (500+ users).
  • Experience with service desk tools and customer service platforms.

Desirable Criteria

Qualifications:

  • Certifications in Extron, Avixa, Microsoft, ITIL.

Additional Knowledge:

  • In-depth AV/IT systems interaction and network familiarity.
  • Knowledge of FreshService ITSM.

Extra Experience:

  • Experience with formal service levels and process improvements.
