Overview
USI Global Recruitment is seeking a skilled and reliable Joiner/Carpenter to join their construction team in Birmingham, United Kingdom. The successful candidate will be responsible for the manufacture, assembly, and installation of a variety of wooden and composite structures.
This role requires strong knowledge of carpentry and joinery techniques, along with hands-on experience using both hand tools and power tools. The ideal candidate should be physically fit, capable of manual handling and heavy lifting, and able to deliver high-quality workmanship with strong attention to detail.
Key Responsibilities
- Manufacture wooden and composite structures
- Assemble carpentry components for construction projects
- Install joinery structures on-site
- Read and interpret construction measurements and plans
- Use carpentry hand tools and power tools safely and effectively
- Perform cutting, shaping, sanding, and finishing of wood materials
- Maintain workplace safety and cleanliness
Experience Requirements
Applicants must have a minimum of 2 years of experience in one or more of the following areas:
- Carpentry
- Joinery
- Fabrication
- Construction assembly
Technical Skills
Candidates should have experience using the following tools.
Hand Tools
- Saws
- Chisels
- Hammers
- Screwdrivers
Power Tools
- Drills
- Electric saws
- Sanders
- Nail guns
Physical Requirements
- Ability to perform manual handling tasks and heavy lifting
- Physically fit for construction-related work
- Strong attention to detail and finishing quality
Eligibility Requirements
UK-Based Applicants
- Must have the legal right to work in the United Kingdom
Overseas Applicants Applicants applying from outside the UK must have one of the following:
- UKVI IELTS certificate, or
- A recognized degree certificate, and
- Relevant trade certificate
