Summary
We have an exciting opportunity for a Junior Data Analyst to join Clarksons’ Data Analysis and Digital Innovation team in London.
This role is ideal for a recent graduate or a professional with up to two years of experience. You’ll work closely with brokers, market analysts, data engineers, and application developers, gaining exposure to the commercial side of the global shipping industry.
We’re seeking someone with a strong quantitative mindset, problem-solving ability, and eagerness to learn and grow.
Responsibilities
- Support the development of proof-of-concept algorithms, models, and metrics.
- Conduct ad hoc analysis to understand and solve commercial challenges.
- Work independently to create innovative data-driven solutions.
- Present analytical findings to team members and stakeholders.
- Build and maintain Power BI dashboards.
- Collaborate with analysts to share and develop knowledge.
- Promote a data-driven approach to decision-making.
- Assist in designing and developing data warehouse pipelines.
- Perform other duties as required.
Requirements
- Degree in Mathematics or another quantitative discipline.
- Strong understanding and passion for statistics and data analysis.
- Experience using Microsoft 365 applications, especially Excel.
- Familiarity with Python, SQL, or Power BI (advantageous but not required).
- Analytical, detail-oriented, and methodical approach to problem-solving.
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills.
- Fluent written and spoken English.
