About the Role
The Home Office is looking for a Lead Data Analyst to join its Data Services and Analytics (DSA) team, a growing division within DDaT that delivers integrated data products, business intelligence, and data science solutions across the department. You’ll be responsible for leading teams to explore complex datasets and develop impactful data solutions. You’ll collaborate with multiple internal teams and stakeholders to shape strategy, deliver insights, and drive innovation in data analytics.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead creation of impactful data analysis products
- Use advanced analytical techniques to discover behaviour patterns and trends
- Manage data collection, migration, and modelling across systems
- Present analytical findings and recommendations to senior stakeholders
- Mentor junior staff and contribute to community development
- Collaborate with other Home Office teams to drive the data strategy
Essential Skills & Experience
Applicants must demonstrate:
- Leadership in managing teams applying a range of analytical techniques (e.g., network analysis, text analytics)
- Proficiency in SQL and Python
- Strong stakeholder engagement and communication abilities
- Experience with data modelling, cleansing, and standardisation
- Capability to identify opportunities for data-driven innovation
- Advising on statistical methods and presenting insights clearly to varied audiences
Technical Skills Framework (SFIA)
You will be assessed against the following SFIA technical skills:
- Strategy and Planning Innovation (INOV) – Level 3
- Quality Assurance (QUAS) – Level 3
- Programming/Software Development (PROG) – Level 4
- Data Modelling and Design (DTAN) – Level 4
