Overview
Liverpool City Council is seeking a Major Projects Officer to support the delivery of major planning and development projects across the city.
The successful candidate will work across different planning functions including development management, planning policy, design and implementation. The role focuses on ensuring that major planning applications and development projects are delivered effectively and meet the highest standards.
Responsibilities
• Manage major planning applications and strategic development projects across the city
• Work across planning teams including development management and planning policy
• Oversee projects from application submission through negotiation, determination and implementation
• Lead discussions with developers to secure high-quality developments
• Provide consistent and comprehensive feedback to developers to improve applications
• Implement strategies that help reduce delays in determining planning applications
Candidate Requirements
• Strong knowledge of planning policies and development management
• Experience handling major planning applications or development projects
• Strong communication and negotiation skills
• Ability to work across teams and departments
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
