You’ll play a pivotal role in shaping our global strategy by analyzing market trends, competitor landscapes, and customer needs to uncover opportunities that drive business growth and enhance Hitachi’s customer-centric transformation.
About GM&S

The Global Marketing & Sales (GM&S) team leads this transformation, aiming to make Hitachi the partner of choice for solving critical global challenges through impactful, sustainable solutions.
What You’ll Be Doing
- Take ownership of specific market intelligence areas such as segment insights or account profiling
- Conduct market sizing and trend analysis across key sectors like Mobility and Data Centers
- Build detailed profiles of global and regional accounts, identifying strategies and opportunities
- Analyze competitors’ performance, strategies, and product pipelines
- Support strategic initiatives such as go-to-market planning, M&A scoping, and economic/trade analysis
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to embed insights into business strategies
- Present insights through reports, workshops, and senior-level presentations
- Manage relationships with external research vendors, ensuring high-quality and ethical research practices
- Contribute to the evolution of Hitachi’s AI-powered insights tool
What You’ll Bring
- 10+ years of professional experience, including 5+ years in market research
- Proven ability to thrive in complex, fast-changing environments
- Strong numerical and analytical skills; comfortable working with unstructured data
- Strategic mindset with the ability to identify the “so what” behind the data
- Excellent communication skills in English (Japanese is a plus)
- Experience in a strategy consultancy or market research agency is an advantage
