Overview
An exciting opportunity is available for a qualified or newly qualified Mental Health Nurse to join the Crisis Centre at Lister Hospital—part of the Crisis Resolution & Home Treatment Team (CRHTT) across North and East Hertfordshire.
The Crisis Centre supports service users experiencing acute mental ill health, helping prevent deterioration and providing therapeutic interventions as an alternative to inpatient admission. The service is person-centred, recovery-focused, and works closely with multidisciplinary teams to promote resilience and crisis prevention.
You’ll join a supportive and welcoming team with access to regular supervision and strong development pathways, including programmes for newly qualified nurses.
Main Duties
- Act as key worker, assessing, planning, implementing and evaluating care.
- Support the delivery of high-quality, intensive treatment for individuals in mental health crisis.
- Work collaboratively with the CRHTT MDT across North, East and South-East Hertfordshire.
- Liaise with professionals, carers and family members to ensure continuity of care.
- Participate in clinical reviews, case conferences and report writing.
- Support centre operations in the absence of a Band 6 (post-preceptorship).
- Contribute to teaching and supporting student nurses and junior staff.

Essential Requirements
- Registered Mental Health Nurse (RMN) / Dip Mental Health
- NMC Registration
- Knowledge of legislation and guidelines relating to adult acute mental health
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills
- Ability to motivate self and others
Desirable
- Experience teaching or mentoring students
- Evidence of continued professional development
