Job description
We are hiring on behalf of a leading global technology company seeking Mid-Senior Software/Firmware Engineers to join their engineering team in Dundee, UK.
This is a hybrid role with excellent opportunities for growth, global exposure, and technical innovation. Visa sponsorship is available for the right candidate.
Responsibilities
- Design and develop software and firmware for real-time embedded devices
- Create and document test procedures
- Perform unit testing and support integration/system testing
- Handle multiple simultaneous projects
- Provide occasional on-site support globally
Requirements
- Degree in Software, Computer, or Electronics Engineering (2:1 or above preferred)
- Strong programming skills in C++ (especially for embedded real-time systems)
- Experience with 32-bit microprocessors (preferably ARM)
- Familiarity with RTOS like VxWorks, FreeRTOS, or uC/OS-II(III)
- Experience with image processing/analysis
- Application-level development in Linux, Android, or Windows (C++, Java, Python, etc.)
- Strong object-oriented design skills and software methodologies
- Software configuration management proficiency
Skills
- Embedded system and processor-level expertise
- Interest in electro-mechanical device control
- Understanding of basic electronics
- Experience in Windows development environment
