The Online Academic Writing Teacher will teach small online classes of 3rd–8th grade students, helping them build strong writing, critical thinking, and communication skills in an engaging virtual environment.

Description
Online Academic Writing Teachers lead live virtual classes using Zoom and the company’s learning platform. Teachers focus on developing students’ writing competencies, classroom participation, and academic confidence.
Classes consist of small groups and are organized by grade and skill level.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in a relevant field or current college students majoring in education
- Comfortable using laptops, computers, and online classroom technology
- Minimum 6-month commitment
- Availability Tuesday to Saturday, 3:00 PM – 7:00 PM (US Pacific Time)
- Internet speed of at least 8 Mbps download / 8 Mbps upload
- Understanding of classroom management and online facilitation
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience working with children
- More than 1 year of elementary or middle school teaching experience within the past 3 years
- TESOL certification or teaching license (not required)
- Master’s degree (a plus)
Key Responsibilities
- Teach live online writing classes using provided Spectrum textbooks
- Teach multiple writing styles including creative, academic, narrative, persuasive, and informational writing
- Explain grammar, punctuation, vocabulary, sentence structure, and writing techniques
- Guide students through brainstorming, drafting, revising, and editing
- Adapt instruction to different learning styles and ability levels
- Provide written feedback, evaluations, and progress reports
- Assess student performance through quizzes, projects, and assignments
- Maintain accurate records of attendance, performance, and participation
- Communicate student progress to parents and guardians
Schedule & Commitment
- Minimum 3 classes per week
- Weekend or weekday evening classes
- Minimum commitment of 6 months
