About Us

Set within The Bartlett Faculty, The Bartlett School of Environment, Energy and Resources (BSEER) is comprised of four world-class Institutes. These provide expert knowledge, collaborative research, and teaching, all supported by a centralised School professional services team.

The BSEER administrative team handles the operational work of a £70m research portfolio, supports 80 academic staff, 85 research associates, 10 postgraduate taught courses with 500 students, two undergraduate courses with 450 students, and over 180 PhD students. This is a complex and dynamic environment where change is constant and embraced.

Overview

The Operations Manager will lead a team of nine staff, delivering effective professional services across:

  • Human Resources
  • Finance
  • Facilities
  • Space Management
  • IT

This role is key to ensuring support services are responsive, efficient, and aligned with UCL’s mission in teaching, research, and enterprise.

This is a busy and fast-paced role. You must be efficient, organised, and detail-oriented, with the ability to engage and interact with various internal and external stakeholders. A professional attitude, proactive mindset, and a positive approach are essential.

  • Has a strong background in administration and support services
  • Has experience successfully managing and developing teams
  • Possesses excellent decision-making, interpersonal, and leadership skills
  • Demonstrates diplomacy, discretion, and the ability to work with stakeholders at all levels
