Job Summary

The Peer Support Worker role is designed for individuals with lived experience of mental distress or those who have supported someone through it. By sharing personal recovery journeys, you will inspire hope and demonstrate that recovery is achievable.

This role is part of the Sussex Community Rehabilitation Pathway, which delivers high-quality, safe, and effective rehabilitation for adults with psychosis and complex mental disorders across Sussex. The service helps people work towards personal aspirations and live meaningful, independent lives.

Please Note:
For candidates requiring a UK Health and Care Visa, you must have at least 2 years’ relevant experience (preferably within the NHS) to meet visa salary thresholds. Applications that do not meet this will not be considered.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support individuals overcoming mental health challenges in their recovery and wellbeing journey.
  • Be a positive role model, sharing aspects of your recovery story to inspire hope.
  • Work with individuals and groups to meet holistic needs, such as education, welfare, employment, leisure, housing, and spiritual wellbeing.
  • Collaborate with the multidisciplinary care team (MDT).
  • Enable service users to participate in co-production, service development, and peer networking opportunities.
  • Plan, promote, and deliver activities in line with individual Recovery Plans.
  • Travel to rural areas (car driver essential).
