Principal Architect (Tech Asset)
Location: London, England | Salary: £75K – £90K
Hybrid Location: Manchester or London
Overview
The Principal Domain Architect is a senior technical leader responsible for ensuring the architectural integrity, resilience, and maintainability of DCC’s in-service technology systems. You will:
- Safeguard alignment with enterprise architecture standards, risk frameworks, and strategic objectives
- Operate across multiple domains, service providers, and stakeholders
- Drive configuration control and asset management maturity
- Maintain system resilience and ensure systems are serviceable, supportable, and compliant
Key Responsibilities
- Asset Management & Oversight: Define and govern asset management architecture and strategy across software, hardware, and data
- Risk Identification & Assessment: Champion enterprise-wide technology risk management and early vulnerability identification
- Project Assurance & Delivery: Provide architectural governance for technology updates and refreshes
- Incident & Problem Response: Lead post-incident reviews and corrective action delivery
- Cross-Domain Collaboration: Ensure performance, security, and operational integrity across architectures
- Compliance & Governance: Maintain adherence to regulatory and security obligations (e.g., ISO 27001, GDPR)
Skills & Expertise
- Enterprise & Solution Architecture (TOGAF preferred)
- IT infrastructure, cloud computing (AWS, Azure, GCP), hybrid architectures
- Technology risk management, asset lifecycle governance, configuration management
- Secure architecture, cybersecurity frameworks, regulatory compliance
- Leadership, communication, and stakeholder management
- Systems integration via APIs, middleware, and data transformation
Desirable Experience
- UK Smart Meter Implementation Programme & energy sector knowledge
- Familiarity with DCC licence conditions, Smart Energy Code (SEC), key stakeholders
- Professional certifications: CISSP, CRISC, ITIL, TOGAF
