About the Role

Liverpool City Council’s Network Management Team is recruiting for a Principal Engineer – Urban Traffic Control (UTC) to help lead a dynamic team managing and improving the city’s traffic signal systems.

You will support the UTC Team Leader in ensuring efficient traffic management across Liverpool through maintenance, programming, and innovation in traffic control systems.

Key Requirements

  • Degree in Engineering or equivalent experience in traffic signal design, installation, and management
  • Proven experience in the delivery of highway, ITS, or related engineering projects
  • Strong leadership and communication skills
  • Ability to manage and motivate a technical team
