The NHS Business Services Authority (NHSBSA) is looking for Product Owners to join our expanding team. This is an exciting opportunity to take a significant step forward in your career, join a growing product community, and support the NHS in delivering services that improve lives.

As a Product Owner, you’ll work across multidisciplinary teams in an agile and user-centric way, ensuring products meet user and business needs. You’ll be responsible for the design, iteration, and delivery of products, while helping define scope, set priorities, and solve challenges for users and stakeholders.

Main duties

  • Own the product vision and roadmap, from inception to delivery.
  • Manage competing priorities and adapt products to meet evolving user needs.
  • Define minimum viable product and set acceptance criteria.
  • Monitor service quality, set KPIs, and report performance to stakeholders.
  • Use data and research to inform product decisions and prioritisation.
  • Collaborate with policy, operations, technology, regulatory, and financial colleagues.
  • Act as an ambassador for your product internally and externally.
  • Contribute actively to the NHSBSA Product Owner Community.

Person specification

Essential skills & experience

  • Ability to make informed, data-driven decisions.
  • Understanding of digital service design and delivery.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Experience applying agile methodologies in product delivery.
  • Demonstrable user-centred design experience.

Qualifications

  • Degree-level qualification or equivalent experience.
  • Evidence of continuous professional development.

Desirable

  • Product Owner certification.
  • Experience with NHS or public sector services.
  • Knowledge of agile frameworks (Scrum, Lean, Kanban).
