About the Role

The University of Glasgow is seeking an experienced Project Manager to lead the GCR Neuranics Advanced Manufacturing Capacity for Sensor Technology project — an ambitious initiative driving Scotland’s leadership in nanofabrication, quantum, and semiconductor technologies. This collaboration between Neuranics, Kelvin Nanotechnology Ltd, and the James Watt Nanofabrication Centre (JWNC) will establish state-of-the-art nanofabrication facilities in Glasgow, enhancing the UK’s capabilities in sensor production and advanced manufacturing. You will oversee all aspects of project delivery, manage partnerships, and drive engagement with industry, academia, and government stakeholders to ensure successful project outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage overall project delivery, budgeting, and reporting.
  • Implement effective project management methodologies and frameworks.
  • Lead on marketing, business engagement, and partnership development.
  • Build relationships with SMEs, research institutions, and industry partners.
  • Represent the project at UK and international events and conferences.
  • Support commercialisation, procurement, and dissemination activities.

Qualifications and Experience

Essential:

  • Degree or postgraduate qualification (SCQF Level 9–11) or equivalent experience.
  • Strong project and financial management skills.
  • Proven experience coordinating complex, multi-partner projects.
  • Excellent communication, organisational, and stakeholder management abilities.
  • Understanding of grant management and financial systems.

Desirable:

  • Experience in the electronics, nanofabrication, or semiconductor sectors.
  • Knowledge of UKRI funding schemes and Higher Education environments.
