- 0.4FTE (15 hours/week) from 15 September – 14 December 2025
- 1.0FTE (37.5 hours/week) from 15 December 2025 – 31 March 2026
Salary: Grade 6, £34,610 – £38,784 per annum (pro rata if part-time)

About the Role
Brighton & Sussex Medical School (BSMS), in partnership with the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration for Kent, Surrey and Sussex (ARC KSS), is seeking a Research Assistant to support applied health research in Primary Care & Public Health.
This is a desk-based role that will involve:
- Designing, developing, and delivering applied health research projects
- Assisting with funder reports and research publications
- Collaborating with academics, clinicians, and ARC KSS colleagues
You will work closely with:
- Prof. Carrie Llewellyn, Head of Primary Care & Public Health, BSMS and ARC KSS Theme Lead
- Dr Nina Lockwood, Postdoctoral Research Fellow
About You
We are looking for an early-career researcher with:
- Experience in applied health research (public health, health psychology, or related field)
- Knowledge of mixed-methods approaches
- Strong analytical and IT skills (Microsoft Office essential)
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team
Experience in public health and knowledge of primary and community interventions is desirable.
