  • 0.4FTE (15 hours/week) from 15 September – 14 December 2025
  • 1.0FTE (37.5 hours/week) from 15 December 2025 – 31 March 2026
    Salary: Grade 6, £34,610 – £38,784 per annum (pro rata if part-time)
    Contract type: Fixed Term

About the Role

Brighton & Sussex Medical School (BSMS), in partnership with the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration for Kent, Surrey and Sussex (ARC KSS), is seeking a Research Assistant to support applied health research in Primary Care & Public Health.

This is a desk-based role that will involve:

  • Designing, developing, and delivering applied health research projects
  • Assisting with funder reports and research publications
  • Collaborating with academics, clinicians, and ARC KSS colleagues

You will work closely with:

  • Prof. Carrie Llewellyn, Head of Primary Care & Public Health, BSMS and ARC KSS Theme Lead
  • Dr Nina Lockwood, Postdoctoral Research Fellow

About You

We are looking for an early-career researcher with:

  • Experience in applied health research (public health, health psychology, or related field)
  • Knowledge of mixed-methods approaches
  • Strong analytical and IT skills (Microsoft Office essential)
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team

Experience in public health and knowledge of primary and community interventions is desirable.
