Salary: Grade 5, £30,378 – £34,610 per annum (pro rata if part-time)
Hours: Full-time up to 36.5 hours per week (9:00–17:30). Flexible working options not available.
Contract: Permanent

About the Role
We are seeking a well-organised, self-motivated Senior Administrator with strong communication skills to support the Sussex Health Outcomes Research and Education in Cancer (SHORE-C) unit, based at the Brighton and Sussex Medical School (University of Sussex campus).
You will manage all aspects of the unit’s finance and administration, including research grants, applications for new funding, training courses, and conferences. This is a key role, working closely with the Director, Deputy Director, and Post-Doctoral Research Fellows in a research unit focused on psychosocial oncology.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage SHORE-C’s research grants, budgets, and administration.
- Support applications for new funding (Charity, Industry, National/International).
- Provide administrative support to senior academics and research staff.
- Assist with planning and delivery of training courses and conferences.
- Represent the unit in dealings with academia, pharma, commercial partners, and patients.

- Experience in a busy office environment with ability to prioritise and meet deadlines.
- Strong organisational, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
- Confident working independently and collaboratively.
- Excellent interpersonal skills and ability to engage with stakeholders at all levels.
