Overview
This is an exciting opportunity to join the dynamic, multi-disciplinary Data Analysis and Statistics team within UKRI’s Analysis and Evidence team. The team provides analysis across UKRI, government, and strategic partners, supporting the UK’s ambition to strengthen its global science and technology leadership.
Key responsibilities include:
- Leading analysis for major publications such as Funding Investments and Outputs and Gateway to Research.
- Managing UKRI data submissions, including parliamentary questions and FOI requests.
- Providing data for the UKRI performance framework to guide senior decision-making.
- Delivering high-quality analysis to support research and innovation policy.
- Collaborating with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders.
- Contributing to the analytical community while developing technical and non-technical skills.
Person Specification
Essential criteria (assessed at shortlisting and/or interview):
- Background in statistics, data science, operational research, economics, or a numerate field (maths, physics, engineering).
- Experience in data wrangling, analysis, and communicating findings to technical and non-technical audiences.
- Familiarity with statistical and data science methodologies.
- Technical skills with SQL, R, Python (or equivalent).
- Strong written and oral communication skills.
- Excellent planning and organisational skills.
