Summary
UCLH is seeking a Senior Data Management Analyst to support strategic and operational data use across the Trust. Working within an agile team, you will focus on activity, income, and workforce data models while integrating new datasets into the Trust’s data warehouse. The ideal candidate has strong experience in a teaching hospital environment and can collaborate effectively with clinical, operational, finance, ICT, and transformation teams.
Main Duties of the Role
- Advanced technical skills (SQL, EPIC Reporting Stack, R)
- Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities
- Excellent understanding of NHS Data Dictionary and commissioning frameworks
- Experience working with a wide range of NHS datasets (income, workforce, imaging, pathology, RTT, theatres, pharmacy, etc.)
- Clear communication and stakeholder management skills
- Requirements gathering and specification design
A short test will form part of the interview process for shortlisted candidates.

Person Specification
Knowledge & Qualifications (Essential)
- Degree level education or equivalent
- Master’s degree or equivalent experience
Experience (Essential)
- Significant experience in information analysis or data processing
- Strong SQL and database management skills
- High-level SQL Server experience
- Advanced Excel proficiency
Experience (Desirable)
- NHS or healthcare information analysis experience
- Microsoft BI tools (Power BI, MS Access)
- Epic BI stack (Radar, SlicerDicer, Reporting Workbench)
Skills & Abilities (Essential)
- Strong understanding of information analysis in the NHS
- Ability to interpret complex datasets
- Convert data into meaningful management information
- Advanced Power BI and Excel skills
- Ability to document BI and data transformation processes clearly
Skills (Desirable)
- Advanced Excel (macros)
