Global is hiring a Lead Data Scientist to join its experienced Data team. This role blends advanced machine learning with strong MLOps expertise, focusing on building scalable, production-ready data science products that drive commercial success across Global’s Digital Ad Exchange (DAX), Audio, Outdoor, and Insights teams.
About the Role
You’ll work in a collaborative, high-performing data environment alongside data scientists, analysts, and engineers. The role involves developing innovative ML/AI solutions and ensuring robust productionisation through scalable MLOps frameworks.
This is an exciting opportunity to lead end-to-end data science initiatives in a fast-paced media and entertainment organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Model Development & Analytics (50%)
- Research and implement supervised and unsupervised ML techniques
- Prototype and evaluate machine learning algorithms
- Generate insights and communicate findings to technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Develop new data science products across targeting, measurement, and consumer analytics
MLOps & Productionisation (50%)
- Build scalable pipelines for training, validation, deployment, and monitoring
- Optimise and refactor legacy models for production environments
- Automate model lifecycle management (retraining, monitoring, versioning)
- Ensure best practices in deployment consistency across projects
Leadership & Collaboration
- Lead cross-functional data science projects end-to-end
- Mentor junior team members
- Work closely with engineering, commercial, and analytics teams
- Present insights to senior stakeholders
What Success Looks Like
Within your first few months, you will:
- Understand Global’s DAX platform and broader business model
- Gain exposure to existing data science products
- Deploy at least one scalable data science product into production
What You’ll Need
- Strong background in predictive, prescriptive, and generative ML/AI
- Degree in a numerate discipline (Maths, Data Science, Computer Engineering, etc.)
- Advanced proficiency in Python and SQL
- Experience with MLOps platforms (e.g., MLflow, Snowflake Intelligence) and CI/CD pipelines
- Proven experience deploying and monitoring ML models in production
- Knowledge of software engineering best practices (version control, testing, code reviews)
- Leadership and mentoring experience
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
