Overview
NWSSP is seeking a Senior Information Analyst to play a key role in exploiting data collected by Primary Care Services. You will enhance data analysis, interpretation, and presentation skills, while influencing the development of datasets to reflect the information needs of NHS Wales initiatives.
Key Responsibilities
- Conduct innovative analyses and produce reports on Primary Care Services data quality.
- Provide guidance on data and analytical matters to internal/external customers and junior staff.
- Lead projects in Analysis and Statistical Services, liaising with NHS Wales, Welsh Government, and academic contacts.
- Ensure compliance with information governance, Caldicott principles, and data protection laws.
- Present analysis results through written reports or visual presentations.
- Maintain and enhance documentation for knowledge sharing within the team.
Requirements
Qualifications & Knowledge:
- Degree-level education (or equivalent).
- Specialist knowledge of programming/query languages and clinical coding.
- Understanding of Health Service information needs and legislation on data protection.
- Desirable: Primary Care informatics knowledge, Prince II certification.
Experience:
- Proven track record in an information-based environment.
- Ability to meet deadlines in a customer-focused setting.
Skills & Abilities:
- Strong analytical and numeric skills; advanced knowledge of SQL, MS Analysis Services, and MS Office (Excel essential).
- Effective communication and presentation skills.
- Project management skills and team leadership experience.
- Desirable: Experience with data visualization tools like PowerBI or QlikView.
- Welsh language skills are desirable.
