Job Description
The UK Astronomy Technology Centre (UK ATC) is the UK’s national centre for leading-edge astronomical instrumentation. We develop world-class equipment for both space and ground telescopes. We are hiring a Senior Product Assurance Specialist to lead quality assurance for a major subsystem on the world’s first space-based gravitational wave observatory.
Responsibilities
- Provide product assurance expertise across design, manufacturing, and testing.
- Maintain the Product Assurance Plan and manage compliance.
- Coordinate reviews and audits with internal teams and external partners.
- Oversee safety, reliability, and risk management processes.
- Manage product data and non-conformance procedures.
Person Specification
- STEM degree or equivalent experience.
- Professional Registration (e.g. C.Eng or I.Eng).
- Strong experience with space/engineering QA aligned to ECSS, ISO, or NASA standards.
- Familiarity with optical, mechanical, and electronics systems.
- Excellent communication, documentation, and project coordination skills.
