Role Overview
We are seeking a highly motivated Industry Support Officer to join our Research & Development (R&D) team at Regent Point, Gosforth. You will:
- Support feasibility, site setup, costing, and contract negotiations for commercial clinical trials.
- Act as the local interface between investigators, NHS sites, and industry sponsors.
- Monitor trial performance and contribute to research strategy development.
- Deliver training and support to research teams, ensuring compliance with governance frameworks.
Key Responsibilities
- Feasibility & Site Identification: Coordinate feasibility processes, resource assessment, and site capability checks.
- Trial Setup & Coordination: Support contract negotiation, costing, and NHS permission processes.
- Performance Monitoring & Reporting: Track recruitment and provide reports to the Trust Industry Manager and stakeholders.
- Stakeholder Engagement: Liaise with commercial sponsors, Contract Research Organisations (CROs), and research networks.
- Policy & Service Development: Contribute to the development of local research strategies and procedures.
- Education & Training: Deliver training sessions on commercial research processes and maintain knowledge of relevant legislation.
Requirements
Essential:
- Degree or equivalent experience in clinical research.
- Advanced knowledge of clinical trial setup, governance, and compliance (e.g., ICH GCP, Research Governance Framework).
- Strong organisational, interpersonal, and communication skills.
- Advanced IT skills, including Microsoft Office.
- Experience managing multiple projects independently.
Desirable:
- Master’s degree or management development programme experience.
- Knowledge of commercial organisations within research.
