Job Summary
We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Support Worker to join our team. This role involves delivering high-quality care and support to individuals in care homes and in their own homes, with a strong emphasis on enhancing independence, dignity, and overall quality of life.
Responsibilities
- Administer prescribed medication safely, monitoring for side effects or changes
- Provide personalised dementia care using appropriate techniques
- Assist with personal care tasks: bathing, dressing, grooming, and hygiene
- Prepare nutritious meals tailored to dietary requirements and preferences
- Promote mental wellbeing by facilitating and participating in social activities
- Maintain accurate documentation and communicate with healthcare professionals
- Safely perform lifting and mobility support for transfers and positioning
- Deliver first aid when required and maintain a safe care environment
- Use appropriate medical terminology in reporting and communication
- Transport service users to appointments and activities
- Hold a valid UK driving license and access to a personal vehicle with appropriate insurance for work-related duties
Experience & Requirements
- Previous experience in care or a similar role is preferred (training provided)
- Familiarity with medication administration and dementia care is an advantage
- Basic knowledge of first aid is beneficial
- A valid driving license is preferred
