Description
Eden Supported Services Ltd is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Support Worker to provide a safe, nurturing, and person-centred environment for adults with disabilities in line with the Care Act 2014.
The role focuses on promoting emotional and physical wellbeing, encouraging independence, and actively involving service users in planning and decisions that affect their lives. You will work closely with colleagues, families, and external professionals to ensure the best outcomes for each service user.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Operate in accordance with Eden Supported Services Ltd’s Health and Safety Policy, including health and safety checks, risk assessments, and cleaning duties
- Encourage and motivate service users to improve and maintain independence within their abilities
- Undertake Keyworker and/or Co-Keyworker responsibilities
- Report significant matters relating to service users to the Manager, Deputy Manager, or Team Leader
- Establish and maintain positive working relationships with service users
- Assist in creating and maintaining service users’ support networks, including family, friends, voluntary organisations, and professionals
- Strive to improve residents’ quality of life and ensure identified needs are met
- Arrange health and non-medical appointments as required
- Administer and manage medication in line with the Medication Policy
- Prepare and cook meals in accordance with the Food Safety Policy
- Respect and support service users’ cultural needs
- Support young people in the community in line with the Lone Working Policy
- Carry out household chores in line with Health and Safety and COSHH policies
- Actively participate in weekly service user planning
- Make and answer telephone calls, write and read emails or letters, and manage mail professionally
- Complete all administrative records accurately in line with company procedures
- Observe, record, and contribute to support plans, behaviour management plans, person-centred plans, and risk assessments
