Overview
We are seeking a Sustainability Procurement Assistant to join our Sustainable Procurement Team at NWSSP.
This role is responsible for:
- Supporting the purchase of goods and services in line with procurement policies.
- Assisting with both routine and non-routine procurement activities.
- Analysing quotations, recommending suppliers, and identifying savings opportunities.
- Helping to reduce non-compliant spend and increase catalogue usage.
You will need strong Excel and data interpretation skills, excellent communication abilities, and a genuine interest in sustainability.
Main Duties of the Role
- Provide procurement advice and support to colleagues.
- Assist in negotiations on non-compliant expenditure.
- Support the Sustainable Procurement Team to drive value for money and efficiency.
- Collaborate effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
Person Specification
Essential Criteria
- Experience in the field of sustainability.
- A Level or NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent).
- Strong interpersonal skills.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (especially Excel).
Desirable Criteria
- NHS sustainability and/or procurement experience.
- Ability to analyse and interpret complex data.
- Ability to work to deadlines.
- Team player with a positive approach.
- Welsh language skills (desirable – applications in Welsh are welcomed).
