Description
Key Responsibilities
- Welcome patients and families on arrival and maintain accurate records.
- Provide administrative support to nurses and medical staff, including discharge planning.
- Handle phone calls, liaise with other departments, and act as the central administrative communication point for both wards.
- Enter patient data, prepare admission/discharge packs, and print front sheets and labels.
- Keep inpatient notes organised and ensure timely coding and scanning.
- Record patient activity in the computer system.
- Manage incoming and outgoing post and distribute mail.
- Update staffing and patient boards daily.
- Deliver a courteous, efficient ward clerk service from admission to discharge or transfer.
- Serve as the first point of contact for visitors and the multi-professional team.
- Maintain patient records and support discharge planning.
Qualifications & Skills
- Experience as a ward clerk or similar administrative role.
- Strong IT competence and experience with patient record systems.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Methodical approach with ability to work independently and within a busy team.
- Fluent English required (Part 7, Immigration Act 2016).
- Visa sponsorship eligibility confirmed.
