Summary
We are seeking a dedicated Warehouse Support Operative to join our team. The successful candidate will be responsible for handling materials, managing stock, and supporting shipping and receiving operations within a fast-paced warehouse environment. This role offers an excellent opportunity to develop skills in warehouse management systems and mechanical handling while contributing to efficient logistics operations. Prior warehouse experience and familiarity with relevant equipment are highly valued. The role involves physical tasks, including heavy lifting and operating warehouse machinery such as forklifts.
Responsibilities
- Load and unload goods using forklifts and manual handling techniques
- Accurately stock shelves using Warehouse Management Systems (WMS) and AS400
- Pick and pack orders efficiently to meet shipping deadlines
- Assist with shipping and receiving, ensuring correct documentation and tracking
- Maintain organised and safe stock storage areas
- Conduct regular inventory checks and report discrepancies
- Support general warehouse maintenance, cleaning, and organisation
- Operate mechanical equipment safely in compliance with health and safety regulations
- Collaborate with team members to improve workflow and operational efficiency
Experience and Requirements
- Previous warehouse experience preferred
- Familiarity with WMS and AS400 systems is advantageous
- Forklift operation experience desirable; certification is a plus
- Knowledge of materials handling, stock control, and logistics procedures
- Mechanical or construction-related experience is an asset
- Ability to perform heavy lifting safely for extended periods
- Strong organisational skills, attention to detail, and teamwork ability
